The journey inward

In days of old, when people lived simpler lives, Church architecture reflected the grandeur and triumph of heaven.

Church spires were unrivaled in their height. The ceilings drew one's eyes to heaven and inspired awe.

Nowadays, when "awesome" means "above average", it is simplicity in design which draws a spiritual response.

To a generation over-stimulated, the invitation must be to quiet and solitude.

Today's spiritual person seeks the journey inward, not the journey upward.

and as they seek inward will they find fulfillment? Did those who seek upward find fulfillment?
